You know how it goes: summer comes, you grab any old pair of sunglasses from the drawer – and they don't fit. Not your face, not your look, not the feeling you want to convey.
The problem usually isn't that you don't have enough glasses. The problem is that you never had the right pair.
We stock Okkia because we believe in them ourselves. Okkia sunglasses combine Italian elegance with casual comfort – perfectly matching our relaxed yet stylish summer vibe. And because after a lot of trying, we know this: when shape, material, and price align, you won't need a second pair.
What Okkia is – and why it's relevant
Okkia is an Italian eyewear brand. Not a luxury brand with a corresponding price tag, but also not a disposable product from a market stall. Subtle retro vibes and a touch of Dolce Vita.
The design principle is simple: clear shapes, high-quality plastic frames, UV-400 protection on every model, unisex. No frills, no loud logo on the temple screaming for attention. The glasses work because they are well-made – not because they try to appear expensive.
That suits us. And probably you too.
Which shape suits you? The honest answer
Most guides on face shapes read like a math textbook. We'll keep it simpler:
Do you have a rather round face? Choose glasses with a straight top edge and an angular shape. They give the face structure without "correcting" it – it sounds more complicated than it is.
Is your face rather oval? Congratulations – almost anything works. Then you decide based on personality, not geometry.
Heart-shaped face, broad forehead, narrow chin? Wide or slightly round frame shapes balance this out. A butterfly shape or a large round one works particularly well here.
Rather angular, sharp features? Softer, rounder shapes. Not because you need to hide edges – but because the contrast looks good.
And if you ignore all this and just pick what you like best: that's fine too. The best pair of sunglasses is still the one you actually wear.
A word on UV protection – because it's more important than lens color
Dark lenses don't automatically protect better than light ones. That's one of the most persistent misconceptions when buying glasses.
What matters is UV-400 protection – and all Okkia models have it. UV-400 means that the lenses block rays up to a wavelength of 400 nanometers. This completely excludes UVA and UVB radiation. Whether the lenses are amber, green, or black is irrelevant for protection – but very relevant for the look.
So, if you can't decide between orange lenses and classic black: the protection is the same for both. Then let the color decide.
Color choice: What really works
Havana – the safe entry point. Warm brown tones that suit almost every skin tone and almost every outfit. Boring? No. Tried and tested.
Black – classic, non-negotiable, always works. In the evening as well as during the day. The non-decision that is still a good decision.
Transparent frames – underestimated. They look airier than they appear, work well with light summer outfits, and always look good in photos.
Colored lenses in orange, green, or blue – for all who wear glasses not just for protection, but as a statement. Not a must. But if you're wondering if you dare: yes, dare.
What you can save yourself before buying
No lengthy research into which model is currently trending. Okkia glasses are not trendy in the sense that they would be out next season. The shapes are classic enough to work long-term – and distinctive enough not to seem interchangeable.
No fear of oversized. The larger models from the collection sometimes look daring on the hanger and immediately right on the face. This is almost always the case with sunglasses.
And no compromises on UV protection. You get that with Okkia anyway – that's the least a pair of sunglasses should provide.
All Okkia models are permanently available in our shop.
